"Hey" day - MLK
This photo needs no description. Just look at the skepticism on Rev. John Jenkins' face..
And Republicans hate the media because they zing people with the truth. To wit, this AP Ron Fournier lead in the story accompaning that photo:
President Bush speaks during a tribute to the life and legacy of slain civil rights leader
LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - President Bush, criticized for decisions on affirmative action and conservative federal judgeships, said Monday "there's still prejudice holding people back" from Martin Luther King Jr.'s dreams of equality.
Any guesses on where that prejudice or more correctly, short-sightedness, is coming from?
Actually, reading the story further, it points out that:
1- Powell also came out against Bush's stance in the UofMichigan cases before the U.S. Supreme Court
2- C. Rice got more applause than Bush
3- Bush received only 9 percent of the vote in 2000. I didn' tknow it was that low. Maaaaan.
4- MLK Day has only been a holiday since 1986.
