A URL IS RARE IN A NEWSPAPER STORY

Unless the story is about the Internet or the entire reasonf for writign thr story is about one site or a couple, rarely is an Internet site URL included in a story.

This one -
Deangoesnuts.com - was included in Howard Kurtz's column. (Again pegged as a newspaper article. Shame on WaPo.)

Also in the same column, does anybody believe this man rides the bus?
Fox News Senior Vice President John Moody said of television's handling of the Iowa videotape: "I don't think we overplayed it a scintilla more than we did Michael Jackson hanging the kid over a balcony. It was what everyone, from Jay Leno to the guy sitting next to me on the bus, was talking about. It was the story of the moment, like Saddam with his beard."

Oh and he's wrong. People were talking about it because of the outraged and humorous commentary that accompanied it from Howard Stern (fine) to Fox and CNN (not fine).

Think about it - that was all ove rthe airwaves before people even knew it coould be on the airwaves. It was not public-driven. It was media driven.

I'm done with "The Scream" now. Another black mark on American Journalism.
