Everyone Will Have 45 Minutes of Infamy
What blogger Roger Ailes says here. Apparently according to Chris Hitchens, whether the claim Bush tokers presented that Iraq could attack the United Kingdom within 45-minutes is true or not doesn't matter because, it turns out, Iraq doesn't have them.
Either that or they did have them and they would be able to launch them and the time element doesn't matter.
Can I have a wide-eyed "waaaaaaaaah?"
Why mention 45 minutes ar all?
That statement from Hitchens just hurt all you on the right in my mind. Because I think, from evidence you present on your blogs and in your columns, that that is exactly what you believe - that the details (some of which were lies) don't matter. That we got something right and now that it's not going right those who point it out (me) are unobjectively anti-American and hate the military.
Powell is having some SERIOUS doubts now:
Asked if he would have recommended an invasion knowing Iraq had no prohibited weapons, Powell replied: "I don't know, because it was the stockpile that presented the final little piece that made it more of a real and present danger and threat to the region and to the world." He said the "absence of a stockpile changes the political calculus; it changes the answer you get."In other words, this wasn't "gotcha" journalism. Powell had plenty of time to reframe the answers he was giving. Now let's see if he's man enough to let his words stand.
