It Bears Repeating
Those who only days before had so much sympathy for the Spanish - much more so than for the people of Bali or other places hit by terrorism - are now saying these same Spanish people are weak-kneed Islamic sympathizers. (aka voters in Spain, aka residents in a democracy, aka want a better way to be protected).
Links to come later, but Discountblogger, Instapundit, and Andrew Sullivan are good places to start for prime examples of the whiplash factor.
This is why I laughed sorrowfully when the sympathy started rolling in for the bombings - because it seemed to be based more on the fact that they were on our side, rather than actual numbers or actual suffering.
Witness the merciless mocking and complete lack of empathy of 10,000 (Yes, that is the correct number of zeros) dead in France through last summer's heat wave there.
You don't get respect for such hypocrisy, pissheads.
This episode of black and white punditry is a perfect encapsulation of why liberals sometimes think they are superior to their foes - because broader thinking equals actual thought and these perfect examples show up far too often.

UPDATE 1 p.m. And a commentator in reply to that post says what I mean in fewer words: Shorter Sullivan and Reynolds: If you vote for Kerry, the terrorists win. That is what this is all about. Neither give a crap about Spain.
