By JENNIFER C. KERR
Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal Trade Commission Chairman Timothy J. Muris is stepping down and the Bush administration has tapped a former Justice Department officials to replace him.
Muris held the job for three years. It was not immediately clear why he decided to leave.
The announcement of his resignation was included in a list of nominees for various posts put out Tuesday by the White House.
Deborah Majoras, a former Justice Department deputy assistant attorney general, was picked to succeed him.
That's the sum and total of the AP story. So far. In about five months, Congress will be officially notified.
